Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday inspected the ongoing construction work of Himachal Niketan at Dwarka in New Delhi and directed the officers concerned to ensure its completion within the next six months.
Being constructed at an approximate cost of Rs 145 crore, the Himachal Niketan is designed as a state-of-the-art facility to cater to the needs of people from Himachal Pradesh visiting the national capital.

The complex will comprise 107 well-equipped rooms along with a restaurant, banquet hall, multipurpose hall, meeting hall, dormitories, adequate parking facilities, landscaped gardens and electric vehicle charging stations, besides other modern amenities.
The Chief Minister said that the Himachal Niketan, offering almost five-star facilities, would provide comfortable accommodation to Himachalis visiting New Delhi for purposes such as medical treatment, education and other official or personal engagements.
He added that the state government remains responsive to the needs of the people and, keeping in view the growing influx of visitors to the capital, an additional building has been constructed to enhance accommodation capacity.
Emphasizing the importance of timely execution, Sukhu directed the officers to expedite the remaining work while ensuring high-quality standards.
Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, appreciated the initiative of the state government, stating that students and patients from Himachal Pradesh visit Delhi in large numbers, and the new facility would offer them a convenient and comfortable stay.
Principal Secretary, Public Works Department, Devesh Kumar, briefed the Chief Minister about the project details and the current status of the construction work.
